Overview
RadSwift DXA ("Software") is a desktop application that runs entirely on your local device. We take your privacy seriously. This policy is short because we collect almost nothing — by design.
1. Information We Do NOT Collect
We want to be direct: RadSwift DXA does not collect, transmit, store, or share any personal information or patient data.
Specifically, the Software does not:
- Collect or transmit any information to us or any third party
- Access the internet for any purpose related to your data
- Send telemetry, analytics, crash reports, usage statistics, or diagnostic data
- Store patient data, medical images, or extracted measurements anywhere outside your local device
- Create user accounts or require registration of any kind
- Use cookies or similar tracking technologies
2. How the Software Processes Data
RadSwift DXA is designed to assist qualified medical professionals in extracting numerical measurements from DXA (Dual-energy X-ray Absorptiometry) scan reports.
All processing occurs entirely on your local device:
- Medical images and scan reports are captured and analyzed in memory on your machine
- Extracted measurements are displayed on-screen and optionally copied to your clipboard
- No image data, patient identifiers, or extracted values are written to external storage, uploaded to a server, or transmitted over any network by this Software
We never see your data. It does not leave your computer.
3. Patient Data and HIPAA
RadSwift DXA is used in clinical and research settings where medical images may contain Protected Health Information (PHI) as defined under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and similar laws.
Because the Software operates entirely locally and we do not receive, access, or process any patient data:
- We are not a Business Associate under HIPAA as a result of your use of this Software
- A Business Associate Agreement (BAA) between you and us is not required for use of this Software
- You (the covered entity or business associate) are solely responsible for ensuring your use of the Software on your systems complies with applicable HIPAA rules, institutional policies, and any other applicable privacy regulations
4. Third-Party Software Components
The Software incorporates open-source software libraries. The full list of components, their authors, and their
license texts is provided in a file named THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.txt, which is installed alongside the
application. You can find it in the Software's installation folder (e.g.,
C:\Program Files\RadSwift-DXA\THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.txt).
These components run locally within the application and do not independently collect or transmit your data.
5. Data on Your Local Device
Any data created or processed by the Software resides on your own device and is subject to your organization's data management and security policies. We have no access to, and no responsibility for, data stored on your device.
6. Children's Privacy
The Software is intended exclusively for use by qualified medical professionals and is not directed at, and should not be used by, individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updated versions will be published at radswift.com/privacy.html with a revised effective date. Continued use of the Software after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
We encourage you to review this page periodically.
8. Applicable Law
This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of New York. If you are located in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or UK GDPR. Because we do not collect personal data, most GDPR rights (access, erasure, portability) are satisfied by default — there is no personal data for us to hold, provide, or delete.
Similarly, if you are a California resident, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). Because we do not sell or share personal information, the CCPA opt-out right does not apply.
